Roti Naik, hot from the oven and slathered with butter! Pure Heaven.. This is also one of my childhood's favourite food made by our Mum . It'd take hours of hard labour to make but easily finished off within seconds! Mum used to knead and "throw" the dough and kept it under the muslin cloth till the dough doubled its size.. Then she would pinch round balls of the dough and put in the baking "loyang" tray.. usually the round ones. She would then leave them overnite to rise again and baked them in time for breakfast the next morning. We would wake up to freshly baked Roti Naik aroma wafting through the house.. eaten as is, dunked in hot kopi or Opor Daging! Bliss..
